The Bulgarian artist Ivan Moudov explores the rules of the art world. Over the past years, he has often posed questions about who owns and has access to the work of art, as idea and object. The act of collecting has grown central, sometimes even by stealing. In the work Fragments, for instance, Moudov has used parts of works he claims to have stolen from galleries and museums, and arranged them carefully in custom-made cases à la Marcel Duchamp.

Frank Tjepkema explains his sofa named Tak.

“Thanks to airplanes people are capable of traveling through the air like birds. We have launched a second revolution: thanks to Tak, people nowadays can also relax like birds!

Tak is a large sofa made of fifty soft rubber branches twingled together, Tak can be expanded as the family grows just like a real birds nest. Tak was especially designed for the furniture fair in Milano.”

The work is from 2004 but one of my all time favorites.
